Israel Trip 2012, Day 2

Tuesday, 26 June, 2012 - 11:15 pm

June 26, 2012

Right after we got off the plane, we had a group teeth-brushing session and Freshened up to start our day changed into our day clothes at the airport. Once we were feeling fresh and ready, we collected our luggage and changed our US dollars into Shekels and we were on our way! The day started out with Caesarea, an ancient port town where we went to a theater that is 2,000 years old. We then wandered over to the palace and the hippodrome, which was used first for horse racing and later for gladiator fights! From there we drove to Kfar Kedem (an ancient village) where we learned hands on how our Jewish ancestors lived. We got to milk a pregnant goat, learned how to bake our own pita bread, and we rode donkeys!!!! After such an eventful day, we were exhausted and made our way to the King Solomon hotel. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and got to bed early after a refreshing shower. READY TO TAKE ON DAY 2!
