Jewish Tourists Congregate at Chabad House During Carnival
February 5, 2008
Thousands of Jewish tourists, many of them Israelis, descended on Chabad-Lubavitch of Salvador in the Brazilian state of Bahia for the city’s annual Carnival, purported to be the world’s largest. As nearly 2 million revelers filled the streets outside, the Jewish men and women ate kosher meals and attended packed Shabbat and weekday services.
