Newest Army Chaplain Takes Oath of Office

Wearing military dress and sporting a full beard, Rabbi Menachem Stern made history Friday when he was officially sworn-in to the U.S. Army as an officer in its chaplain corps.

Col. Jacob Goldstein, a Chabad-Lubavitch rabbi who has served as a U.S. Army chaplain for more than three decades under a one-time exception to military grooming policy, speaks at the installation ceremony of Rabbi Menachem Stern.
