Leadership League

While every Friendship Circle teen volunteer is a leader in our book, we realize that only a select few can make the commitment needed to take their service to the next level. That’s why we created the Leadership League.

S
imply put, the Leadership League gives students in the tenth grade and above the building blocks to bring about real change in the world — and in the special needs community — through intensive training and networking opportunities with a variety of presenters from both in the special needs world and beyond.

Are you eligible to apply?

*Are you a sophomore, junior or senior?

*Have you been an active Friendship Circle volunteer?

*Before applying please consider if you have time in your schedule to attend monthly meetings and help with various assigned tasks. This is a significant time commitment.

*If you plan to go abroad for any part of next school year, your application will not be considered.

*This is a one year opportunity. Take this into consideration to make sure that this is the best year for you to apply. If you have been a leader before you cannot reapply.

Being in the Leadership League means you are committing to:

1.  Being an active and responsible Friendship Circle volunteer

§  Lead by example: Be an active Friends at Home volunteer or attend 2 of 3 Sunday Circle Sessions.

2.  Helping expand our community by recruiting – Reach out to friends and classmates and invite them to join you as a Friendship Circle volunteer

3.  Completing your assigned task (tasks include group tasks as well as individual goals)

§  Group Tasks: Help promote all Friendship Circle events, organize a team for our fall walk and help host at our spring fundraising cocktail event.

§  Complete an Individual Task Goal, outlining your yearly commitment to The Friendship Circle. We will talk about recruitment goals and other ways to help such as: coordinate volunteer events; making pre-event phone calls, publicizing the Friendship Circle on Facebook, and much more. And of course, we’ll help you every step of the way.

Applications for the 2012-2013 Leadership League MUST be submitted by May 11th.
