Building a better world for children with special needs … one friend at a time.

Simply put, The Friendship Circle lets children and teenagers with special needs enjoy many of the social and recreational opportunities afforded to the community at large. Our program also provides a way for teenagers to offer respite and meaningful friendship to these children and their families. 

The Friendship Circle touches so many lives in the Jewish community and beyond.

• Children with special needs look forward to weekly visits or “Sunday Fundays” -- and the opportunity to play with and learn from their friends.

• Families of children with special needs enjoy a needed respite and the pleasure of watching their children being welcomed by our community. 

• Teenage volunteers learn the value of giving and experience the satisfaction of making a meaningful difference in a child’s life. 

Who can say who benefits most: the child with special needs who discovers what he can do, as opposed to what he can’t … the parents who enjoy a well-deserved break … or the volunteer who gets to see the world from a whole new perspective!
